CAN practices comprehensive care involving the expertise of many different healthcare professionals to manage the multiple physical and emotional health problems of a patient. CAN believes in treating the whole patient and providing services specific to the needs of the patient.

COUNSELING AND THERAPY

Mental health counselors provide therapeutic counseling to couples, groups and individuals to complement medical services in treating the whole patient.

Many clients face multiple challenges, including coping with the reactions of others, developing and adopting strategies for maintaining physical and emotional health, initiating changes in behavior to prevent HIV transmission to others, and reducing the risk for acquiring additional STDs. Therefore, mental health counselors are an integral part of health care for HIV-infected persons.

CASE MANAGEMENT

EDUCATION & PEER SUPPORT

Effective HIV education can help prevent new diagnoses by providing people with information about HIV and how transmission occurs. In doing so, we equip individuals with the knowledge to protect themselves.

Our Education Program brings the latest information about HIV to many schools. We also hold events to reach out to those in our community who are particularly at-risk, including teens and minority populations. These include Community Awareness activities and Event and additional Patient Education.

PHARMACY SERVICES

CAN Community Health has opened several new in-house pharmacies soon to make it easier for patients to receive the best possible care. Many patients have to arrange for transportation to appointments and by offering them the ability to get prescriptions while at their appointment saves time.
